Do I need to be a registered contractor to do work in the city?

Yes, you need to register with the Zoning Department of your respective city.  Contractors are required to have state licensure and must carry insurance in order to register.

How many copies of plans do I need to submit for a plan review?

You need to submit 4 copies to Elevate Building Solutions. Plans must be stamped by a State Licensed Architect.

Where can I find Plan Review Applications and Permit Applications?

You can pick up paper copies from our office at 440 Pennsylvania Avenue, Salem, OH 44460, you can print out paper copies from our website, or you can complete the applications on-line through the iWorQ portal on our website at elevatebuildings.com

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash (exact change only), checks, money orders, and all major credit cards.

What kind of work will require permits?

Any Commercial building major repair, alteration, or new construction requires a permit.  All major alterations and new building construction require plans stamped by a State Licensed Architect.

We are located inside the SOD Center at 440 Pennsylvania Avenue, Salem, OH 44460.  Both the Cities of Salem and Columbiana will use this location.

Can I still Submit my plans or permit requests to the State?

The State no longer accepts any commercial plan review or commercial building permit requests for the cities of Columbiana and Salem Ohio.
